Leland
Martin
Project Title: Home
is where the Honky Tonk is
(one
of the first national productions for me)
Release
date: 2000
Leland
has moved on to greener pastures, but still this CD is one of my favorites.
We were lucky enough to get a top 60 single out of this record, which
gave me big hope for the future. Leland is from my hometown, and it
was an honor to help him move forward. I do wish that he and I had remained
close, but some things are not mean to be. He is and always will be
an undeniable talent!

Jimmy
D. Smith
Project Title: San Antonio Serenade
Release
Date 2002
(Co-producers
Brian Blessing and Jon Raney, selected tracks)
Jimmy
is an American original. Tall, skinny, on fire and ready to get it!
This album contains some of my finest work as a writer. Check out the
title track for a great story! I am happy that Jimmy has achieved some
success at radio. His song on the border is climbing the charts as we
speak.

Kelly
McGuire
Project
title Club Blonde
Release
Date 2001
(Co-Produced
with Kelly McGuire)
This
was one of the first artists I brought up from Houston to our new digs
at Raney Recording in Arkansas. Ill never forget Kelly taking
the chance on us. As a result, some of my biggest chart success has
been with him. Club Blonde, the first single, went up to
the top twenty in the Texas Charts, and top 30 nationally. His second
single Wasted on the young, also featuring Wayne Toups on
button box, went to number 10 on the Texas Charts and the top 30 nationally!
Thanks Kelly for helping establish a winning tradition!

Randy
Meadows
( with special guests Willie Nelson, Johnny Gimble and Floyd Domino)
Project
Title Family Portrait
Release
date 2002
(Co-Produced
with Randy Meadows and the late Bucky Meadows)
What
can I say about Randy
..no one I know has been a better
friend. One of my favorite music people on the earth, Randy has said
more in two CDs than most artists say in a lifetime. This
CD is half me and the Cuttin Crew at Raneys, half Bucky and Willie
in Perdenales. Its all good!

Tim
Hughes
Project
Title One Thought Of You
Release
date 2003

is one incredible singer, and has a great chance at radio. The first
single Me and my car went all the way to number 43 nationally
and the second single Dancin in your eyes is already
on deck at Music Row and at number 51 in New Music Weekly.
This project is now my first SIGNED project! Yippie! Picked up by
V-tone, which is part of the Interscope music family. This one is
hot!

Anthony
Michael James
Project
title This is Anthony Michael James
Release
date summer 2003
(Co-Produced
with Jon Raney)
This
one isnt even done yet, but already I feel like its going
to be amazing. It contains the best song I ever wrote (co-written
with Tony) called Old Friends. It is going to be no doubt
a sizzling hit. Many thanks to Keith Benner, my friend in Allentown,
Pa. Who brought Anthony to my attention. Keith, you will NEVER know
what your friendship has meant to me!

Russell
Ray (with Mickey Gilley)
Release
Date summer 2003
(Co-Produced
with Ken Reynolds)
Long
before the final draft of this project was done, Russell scored MAJOR
club success with two goofy songs He, Ken, Alan Huff and myself wrote.
One called Beautys in the eye of the beer holder was
a Huff/Deforest/Ray song, and was originally slated for our Meet
the Tropicats CD. However, the band had MAJOR issues with the
songs contents, which I have to admit offend just about everyone! So,
Russell had the balls to put it out and it was an immediate hit in clubs.
He followed that up with a song He, Ken and myself wrote called What
the @#$K ever, and he is now a cult classic in Houston! His first
single will be Girls all get prettier at closing time, which
is a duet with my old boss and friend, Mickey Gilley.
